South Germany Storage Facility
Year of construction: 2025 14,000 m²
The project involves the extension of production-related logistics facilities for an international industrial company at its existing site. The aim was to create additional storage and functional areas while ensuring a seamless connection to the existing buildings through a new single-storey link structure.
The new development is organized into two main volumes:
A high-bay warehouse with various climate zones and optimized racking systems, and an adjoining functional building containing logistics transfer areas, goods in/out, technical installations, office spaces, and social rooms. The overall layout follows clear material and personnel flows, enabling efficient logistics operations in continuous use.
The structural concept combines reinforced concrete and steel construction, complemented by an energy-efficient building services strategy including concrete core activation for temperature control. The sloping topography of the site was integrated into the planning to provide an accessible, level transition between the existing facilities and the new building despite height differences.
With approximately 14,000 sqm of additional usable area, the project strengthens the company’s production logistics, creates capacity for future expansion, and forms a precisely coordinated link between manufacturing, storage, and administration.
Project completed while at IWL AG.
